Okay maybe everyone already knows and/or does this, but when my Grandma first told me about this, I thought it was genius! If you haven’t already guessed, I love garlic. Most of my cooking includes garlic in some shape or form. But even though I get the $1 packs of pre-peeled garlic from my local Asian grocery store, I still kind of dread chopping garlic every time it’s called for – just seems so time consuming!
But now, I just do what my Grandma does and it saves me soooo much prep time!
Step 1: Using a garlic chopper like the OXO pictured below, chop all your garlic. Be sure to cut off the ends first! This is an absolute lifesaver IMO, but someone ruined mine recently (and won’t own up to it… hmph) so I’ll need to pick up a new one at Kitchen Stuff Plus soon.
Step 2: Pour all the chopped garlic in a jar, then fill with vegetable oil.
Step 3: Store in the refrigerator, and voila! You have minced garlic on hand every time you need it! (I didn’t use the entire tray for this picture, just in case you were wondering.)
