Lemon Garlic Tilapia Recipe

This is an incredibly quick, easy, delicious and cheap recipe for oven-baked Tilapia. What’s not to love?!

Lemon Garlic Tilapia

Ingredients:

  • Tilapia fillets – you can buy them frozen or fresh
  • 1 lemon
  • Butter
  • Chopped garlic
  • Parsley flakes – dried or fresh
  • Lemon Pepper seasoning

Directions:

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375° F. I have a Breville Smart Oven which was one of the best kitchen purchases ever. Aside from being packed with great features, it uses a lot less electricity (read: costs me less to use) than my conventional oven.

Step 2: Rinse off the tilapia fillets under cold water, then pat dry with paper towels.

Step 3: Place the fillets in your baking dish. I cover mine with tin foil, but you can skip this if you prefer to spray it with non-stick cooking spray instead.

Step 4: Pour the melted butter over the fillets.

Step 5: Squeeze lemon juice over the fillets, then sprinkle parsley and lemon pepper seasoning. Add a generous amount of chopped garlic. I love lemon and garlic, so I use an extra generous amount of both.

Step 6: Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes (fish should be white and flake apart when pulled). Adjust time based on the size of your fillets. You can also broil for the last 5 or so minutes (which I forgot to do this time around) to get the garlic nice and browned.

Step 7: While fish is in the oven, cook some rice. Wash some green beans and cut off the ends. Melt some butter in a pan over medium heat and throw in some chopped garlic. Once it starts to brown, add in the beans and stir occasionally until you reach your desired level of doneness. Add some garlic salt to taste if desired.

Step 8: Serve with lemon and ENJOY!
